Yes yes yes ladies and germs, it's yours truly....Brother B Deenie aka Holleratmah Ghandi, back from hiatus and ready to speak to the world again. So let's do a little rundown of the past few months just to get yawl up to speed:
1. My girl and I are getting married
2. Gonna be the newest member of the Hip Hop Dad club in Octobrah (Word to Jamar!)
3. Got a new 9 to 5'ver here in Greensboro
4. Finally got rid of my TiVo (no, not Boogs, the actual TiVo)
5. Started working on the Mentos/Furious.MC Album
6. Started working on the Surreal/Furious.MC EP
7. Finally found my copy of "We're All In The Same Gang" 12 inch
So yeah, that about covers the past few months. What's been up with you folks?
Anyhow, I thought I'd post some of the tracks that I've been keeping in heavy rotation on the iPod. So here goes:
Now as many of you already know, I am a huge Doom fan. From his stage show, rhyme style/subject matter, and his alter-egos, I'm just a real big fan (No Brokeback). I had never heard of Dabyre before but I was surfing around looking for some new tracks to bump and ran into "Air". I ripped it when I got home and just kept hitting repeat. Air is one of those tracks that is slow but has that "rainy days and I wanna just chill" vibes to it. Much like "Isolated" by Black Lung Movement. Got me doing the screw face and such. Of course, Doom does his best "incoherent but genius" routine and comes off ill as usual. Speaking of the IBG deal, Boogs and I talked a few years ago about how it would be cool to have a posse cut that featured Ghostface, Del, El-P, and Aesop Rock doing the IBG thing. I guess you'd have to add Doom to that track as well.
I ran across the latest El Da Sensei offering, The Unusual, on iTunes and figured that I'd o my part in supporting the underground artists (gotta support the good music!). I had not heard any leaks or preview tracks of the LP before hand but as soon as I heard "Crowd Pleasa", I was jetted into immediate and uncontrollable head-nod mode. This is classic New Jeruz style to me. Straight braggadocio. Straight banger beats. I had not gotten anything from El since his last Seven Heads offering (what's up with those cats anyhow?) and to be honest, I was disappointed with that LP. This one is pretty good. One of those records that you can have on in the car when you are taking a trip and it'd go well with the ride and all but you wouldn't really stop talking to listen to every track. It does fit the "3 out of 10" have to be good songs rule that Boogs came up with. Side Note: That rule is the only reason that I never did cop any Cash Money records. Whew!
Classic Track Alert!
Organized. Yet Konfused. Ever since Pudge Fudge, I've been a fan of OK. Monch and Prince Po were at the top of their games during the OK years. I remember the first time I heard "Why?", it was on of the numerous mix tapes (back when cassettes ruled) that my homeboy O'Lekan put together. Joint was pure hip hop joy back then. And to me it still has that smell of True Skool freshness to it. After a long day on the J.O., I'll hop in the Accord and bump this track all the way home. God bless the 90s.

Those of you who have been frequenting The Funk since we first got off the ground know that I'm the biggest FSU homer of all time. After watching the Niffle Draft last weekend, I just had to tell all my peoples who would listen to me without running away or hitting me with their cell phones how UF sucks and whatnot. I admit that I got a bit carried away. My fiance says that I'm obsessed to which I vehemently deny the charges, although I do admit to my high level of fanaticism when it comes to the Noles. I guess it's just a byproduct of "lack of football"-itis. I mean, it's summer already. Isn't it time for summer workouts? Where is the video of Myron Rolle laying out some poor walkon at? Anyhoodle, here is a rundown of Noles selected in the draft:
Ernie Sims 1 (9) Detroit
Kamerion Wimbley 1 (13)
Brodrick Bunkley 1 (14)
Antonio Cromartie 1 (19)
Willie Reid 3 (31)
Leon Washington 4 (20) NY Jets
Pat Watkins 5 (5)
A.J. Nicholson 5 (25)
Matt Henshaw FA Seattle
Sam McGrew FA Miami
B.J. Dean FA Baltimore
Kyler Hall FA Detroit,

So there you have it peoples. Another fine offering from the Furious one. Hope er'body is doing well and supporting good kwelity Hip Hop Music. If not, shame on a....well, you know the rest.
Peace and Blessings
Keep On Funkin'
Brother B.
